Eco Trak S5 now supports a 2-wire installation option.

The Eco Trak S5 now offers a 2-wire installation option, making the installation process simpler and more flexible. This new setup eliminates the need to connect the ignition wire, allowing for a quicker and more straightforward installation while maintaining core tracking and security functions. The 2-wire configuration is ideal for vehicles where accessing the ignition wiring is difficult  such as installation on EV vehicles. Despite this simplified wiring method, the system still provides real-time tracking, 24/7 monitoring, and driver ID recognition, ensuring your vehicle remains secure.

However, it’s important to note that choosing the 2-wire installation disables the motion sensor, which plays a critical role in theft detection. Without the motion sensor, the system cannot detect movement without an ignition signal, limiting its ability.  As a result, using the 2-wire installation option invalidates the Thatcham approval, meaning the system will no longer meet insurance-approved security standards. This feature is designed to be used with a strict understanding on the Thatcham status being invalid.
